Level 2 Electric Hybrid Vehicle

This L2 Award provides experienced technicians with the skills and knowledge to work safely on and around Hybrid (HEV), Plug In Hybrid (PHEV) and Electric Vehicles (BEV). This L2 qualification is designed to train a technician to work safely and competently on vehicles with high voltage systems (e.g. Hybrid/ Electric Vehicles).

Level 3 Electric Hybrid Vehicle

Refrigerant Handling (F-Gas)

F-Gas Fast Track is a blended training delivery solution for those who struggle to spend much time away from the workshop. After completing the online training over just 1 day you’ll attend one of our assessment centres to receive some additional tuition and conduct your Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) online assessment and complete a number of assessed practical tasks.

What are the benefits of IMI TechSafe?

Embracing IMI TechSafe recognition for you and your staff leads to greater trust from your customers, as it shows your workshop team is fully qualified to be working on electric, hybrid and ADAS equipped vehicles. It is also seen as a badge of honour for those in the sector who hold it. It can also lead to increased business and will help you to succeed better in the marketplace, as it gives you the ability to market your forward-looking approach.

Retaining IMI TechSafe recognition

A vital part of retaining TechSafe recognition on IMI’s professional register is to keep up to date with your knowledge, skills and competency. This is why IMI-approved TechSafe CPD is a requirement to retain IMI TechSafe recognition.

An individuals 3-year TechSafe CPD cycle will commence on the completion date of their entry route qualification once they have opted in and agreed to adhere to the IMIs Professional Standards.

To retain TechSafe recognition you need to complete 18 credits (18 hours) worth of learning over a 3-year period.

If you’re a technician who holds a valid electric vehicle qualification with the IMI (L2, L3 or L4 (but not L2 Haz Man), you can become an IMI TechSafe recognised member of the IMI for free!

Once you’ve completed a valid IMI TechSafe entry-route qualification, you can claim your complimentary IMI membership here and following verification you’ll be recognised on the IMIs Professional Register with IMI TechSafe recognition.
